I am beyond excited that you have taken the time to learn a little more about the Academy of Environmental Science.  I have served as the Principal of AES for the past 2 and 1/2 years during which we have seen some tremendous growth. This is attributed to the amazing staff, incredible students and families, and our amazing community.

As a student at AES, your child can look forward to an individualized instruction to meet their specific learning styles.  A dedicated staff focused on not only saving the environment but establishing a determination in your child to do the same.

One thing we focus on at AES is that we are a family, every student knows each of their classmates, shows compassion for them, and collaborate together to achieve the highest level of success possible.  Through a focus on positive behavior, team building, and high expectations students have a shared responsibility for the school's success.

We have some fantastic extra-curricular programs including our Striker's Fishing Team which is nationally recognized by Berkley Fishing Gear.  As a part of the Striker's team students will not only learn and experience the world of salt and fresh water angling but also serve our community through countless service projects to support our community.  We are also very proud of our Academic Teams which annually take part in the 20/20 Environmental Jeopardy Competition (2017 Champion), Nature Coast Envirothon (2017 State Champion, 2018 Regional Champion), and Central Florida Ocean Bowl (2016 State Champion, 2017, 2nd and 3rd Place).

Acceptance to AES depends on 2 crucial areas, Attendance, and Behavior.  As an AES student, your child will be given the amazing opportunity to experience hands-on lessons embedded in the local environment.  These opportunities mean students must show that they can attend school on a regular basis, and ensure they act in a respectful, responsible, and safe manner.

An exciting new program we are offering this year is full SCUBA certification through our HOPE (PE) class.  Students will have the chance to earn a full PADI SCUBA certification(which will never expire) as part of the curriculum.  The only cost to parents is the purchase of personal gear (mask, snorkel, & fins-$125).

The Academy is an amazing learning environment that will ignite a passion for learning in the heart and mind of your child.  Apply today to improve your chances of avoiding the waiting list for the 2019-2020 school year.
