A vibrant sunset reflects on calm water, with a dark shoreline in the foreground.

Located on the beautiful Salt River, the waterfront location of the Academy provides the perfect setting for 9th and 10th-grade students to explore their environment. We offer all the courses your child needs to stay on track of graduation at the honors and AP level. Each class is created to offer hands-on, project-based learning opportunities to ensure connections to the real world. Through our partnership with Citrus County School District students will be able to seamlessly transition to a number of amazing programs at our area high schools including; International Baccalaureate at Lecanto High School, Withlacoochee Technical College, Dual Enrollment with the College of Central Florida, or traditional high school honors courses. Under the guidance of highly qualified subject area specialists, who bring the content to life, students encounter the environment first-hand as they explore estuaries and rivers by kayak and canoe. Considering Citrus County has one of the few remaining protected coastlines in the state of Florida, with miles of river and aquatic wetlands, the location offers an unmatched experience.

AES sponsors several fundraisers each year, including Citrus County Educational Foundation Coupon Sales. Profits from fundraising at AES will be used, among other things, to purchase school wide needs, such as additional technology supplies, and instructional materials. A small amount of these funds may be used to provide food and other consumables items for staff sessions throughout the year, staff appreciation, and student recognition. We are always mindful that these are optional for students and are deeply appreciative for the support of the AES community.
